The backpack program discreetly provides nutritious, child-friendly, easy-to-prepare food to chronically hungry children. Food is distributed in ordinary backpacks students take home over weekends and out-of-school times.
For students in need, the program:
- Provides nutrition
- Eases anxieties
- Reduces absenteeism
- Improves attention span
- Raises academic performance
- Increases self esteem
Our program also teaches good eating habits, provides good community role models, demonstrates community pride and serves as an effective outreach program.
The Backpack Food Program is part of the not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization Business For Excellence In Youth, based in Lincoln City, Oregon. The group's Federal Tax ID is 31-1731641.

The children of Lincoln City will get off to a great start this academic year because of the generous people and businesses of our incredible beach town.
